breakdown video of “Human Nature” collection

Human Nature

I had the privilege of actualizing Gary James McQueen's creative vision in the realization of his "Human Nature" collection. My contributions encompassed the generation of a curated series of still images and the development of a video render employed in the creation of a 3D holographic presentation by Holoconnects. These artworks garnered recognition through their exhibition at Art Basel and inclusion in numerous press releases.

In the execution of this project, my responsibilities extended across various crucial domains:

  • Technical project planning involved orchestrating the strategic roadmap for the project's implementation.

  • The meticulous design of lighting schemes aimed to enhance the visual impact and narrative coherence of the collection.

  • The rendering process transformed conceptual ideas into tangible and visually compelling representations.

  • My role in material look development and flower placement ensured an aesthetic alignment with the overarching theme of "Human Nature."

  • Engaging in the art of linear editing and color grading brought a refined visual continuity to the project, elevating its overall presentation.

Baroque 3D Environment for Gary McQueen | Flannels Flagship, London

In late 2024, I was commissioned by Gary McQueen to create a bespoke 3D environment for an immersive digital installation showcasing many of our previous collaborations at the Flannels flagship store in Oxford Circus, London. The animation was designed to seamlessly wrap around the venue’s expansive 22K-resolution screens, transforming the event space into a dynamic, baroque-inspired world

The concept featured intricate golden vines and blooming flowers that elegantly grew across the architecture, bringing the environment to life. I was responsible for the entire creative and technical process, from conceptualization and design to project management and execution.

Below is a breakdown of my work on this project.

Collection of modules

Individual modules were designed for seamless repetition along the event space, each featuring its own floral simulation to ensure a cohesive and adaptable arrangement.

No UVS!

Baking curvature, ambient occlusion, and dirt maps into vertex colors enabled procedural wear and tear through a shader, eliminating the need for individual asset texture painting and significantly reducing the number of unique textures required for shading.
